Property Taxes and the City Budget
Each November, property owners receive individually mailed Truth in Taxation notices, or "previews," showing how the proposed tax levy for the coming year will effect each parcel of property. This notice includes the dates and times of all public meetings that will be held to discuss and approve the proposed tax levy.
The City of Golden Valley invites the public to comment on the proposed tax levy by sending letters or attending the Truth in Taxation hearing.
Explore this portion of the City web site. It provides basic information citizens can use to understand the City budgeting and tax levy setting process and the property tax system. If you have further questions about City property taxes or the City budget, contact Finance Director Sue Virnig at 763-593-8010 or svirnig@ci.golden-valley.mn.us. Complete copies of the General Fund Budget are available at City Hall (7800 Golden Valley Rd) or the Hennepin County Library in Golden Valley (830 Winnetka Ave N).
