Notice is given that sealed bids will be received by the City of Golden Valley until 10:00 am, THURSDAY, AUGUST 5, 2010, at the Office of the City Clerk, Golden Valley City Hall, 7800 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, Minnesota 55427-4588, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud, for the furnishings of all labor and material for the City of Golden Valley – 2010 Building Maintenance. A general description of the work includes sealant replacement, tuck pointing, brick replacement, painting, window repair, and metal flashing.

Contractors who wish to review the project site may attend a walkthrough to be held at 11:00 am, July 27, 2010. Contractors will meet at the City Hall, 7800 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, Minnesota. This is the only time that will be available for reviewing the site.

Bids shall be on the form provided for that purpose and according to the Contract Documents prepared by Environmental Process, Inc., 715 Florida Avenue South, Suite 111, Golden Valley, Minnesota 55426. Bid Forms and Contract Documents may be reviewed at the office of the Golden Valley Public Works Department and Environmental Process, Inc.

Bidding information, specifications and proposal forms are available at the Golden Valley Public Works Department, Engineering Division. Copies of proposal forms, plans and specifications for use by contractors submitting a bid may be obtained for $25.00 per set if picked up at the City offices, or $40.00 if sent by mail. Bids must be accompanied by money order, cash deposit, cashier’s check, bid bond, or certified check payable to the City of Golden Valley for five percent (5%) of the amount of bid, (to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event the bid is accepted and bidder shall fail to enter promptly into written contract and furnish the required bond).

Bids shall be directed to the City Clerk, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper, “BID FOR - 2010 BUILDING MAINTENANCE, CITY PROJECT NO. 10-23.”

No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the bids are opened. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interests of the City of Golden Valley.

All interested persons may appear in person or by counsel and be heard. If you require auxiliary aids or services to participate or communicate in this meeting, please contact Judy Nally at 763-593-3991 (TTY: 763-593-3968) 48 hours before the meeting time to make a request. Examples of auxiliary aids or services may include sign language interpreter, assistive listening device, accessible meeting location, etc.

A general description of the work includes removal of the existing Infrared Radiant Heat system and installation of an Infrared Radiant Heat system.
